Unpacking the ONESPORT OT16-2, the first thing I noticed was the massive 48V 17Ah battery, it looks like it could power a small city.
My friend has a standard 250W e-bike, but after trying my OT16-2 he was shocked by the torque, the 48V system makes a big difference.
The 48V 17Ah battery on this bike provides a genuine 60km of pure electric range, which is more than enough for a full day of errands.
Let me tell you about my commute on the OT16-2, my round trip is 24km through a mix of paved paths and rough city streets, the 20 by 3.0 tires absorb all the bumps, the 250W motor with the 48V system provides smooth, punchy assistance, and the 120km assist range means I only charge the battery once a week, this bike has turned my daily grind into a genuine pleasure.
The 20 by 3.0 inch tires are the perfect middle ground, I get the comfort of a fat tyre without the sluggish, heavy feeling.
Riding the OT16-2 on long, straight bike paths, the bike is very stable and the 48V system provides consistent power throughout the ride.
From the moment I started riding, I appreciated the 48V 17Ah battery, it gives me the range and torque that 36V systems just cannot match.
Riding the OT16-2 on wet roads, the 3.0 inch tires provide good grip, and the bike's low centre of gravity inspires confidence.
My wife has a 36V e-bike and she prefers riding my OT16-2 on hilly routes because the 48V system provides so much more climbing torque.
The OT16-2 does not fold, but the rigid frame is very solid and the bike feels built to last for many years of daily use.
One thing I really like about the OT16-2 is the 48V 17Ah battery, it provides plenty of range and the higher voltage is very noticeable on hills.
The 250W motor on the OT16-2 is very efficient, I get the full 120km of assist range even with the wide tires, which is impressive.
The OT16-2 comes with a rear rack as standard, which is great for commuting, I use it to carry my work bag and shopping. 🛒
Let me share my experience taking the OT16-2 on a 50km countryside ride, the 20 by 3.0 tires rolled smoothly over all the pavement, the 48V 250W motor provided consistent torque up every hill, and the battery still had 40 percent left at the end, I arrived home feeling fresh, this bike is a very capable long distance cruiser with power to spare.
The 20 by 3.0 tires on the OT16-2 are puncture resistant, I have ridden over 400km without a single flat, very reliable.
There is something special about gliding through the city without breaking a sweat, this bike makes it happen every day.
I didn't expect an e-bike to change my daily routine so much, but now I find excuses to go for rides all the time.
It has transformed a necessary chore of moving myself from place to place into the best part of my day. 🏆
Riding the OT16-2 through the city, the 20 by 3.0 inch tires strike a brilliant balance, they are wide enough for comfort but not as bulky as fat tires.
The OT16-2 feels very well balanced, the heavy 48V battery is mounted low in the frame, so the bike handles corners without any top-heavy feeling. ⚖️
The seat on the OT16-2 is comfortable for up to an hour of riding, but I swapped it for a gel seat for all-day comfort, a cheap upgrade.
One thing I immediately noticed is how stable the OT16-2 feels at speed, the 20 inch wheels and wide tires make it very planted. 😊
One small thing I love is the rubberised grips, they are comfortable and provide excellent grip even when my hands are sweaty on a hot day.
The 250W motor is very quiet, at 25kmh on a smooth road I can barely tell it is running, just a faint hum from the rear hub.
The mechanical brakes on the OT16-2 are more than adequate for the bike's weight, they stop me confidently in all conditions. 🔧
The 48V battery has a handy built-in handle, making it very easy to carry upstairs to my apartment for charging.
Riding through a construction zone with loose gravel and mud, the 20 by 3.0 tires gave me the confidence to ride through without slowing down.
The 60km range on the OT16-2 is realistic, I consistently get 58-62km on a full charge with mostly throttle use, very impressive. 📊
